So fascinating to have this look at all the more recent scientific research into the undoubted relationship between diet and health. I fear for the future with the anti-science team in charge in Washington and the drastic cuts to both personnel and funding of the places where this very research has been carried out.

Nancy, I’m concerned, too…while efforts to take back oversight over food additives and reform GRAS are long overdue, your point about personnel and funding resources is critical. The FDA needs resources for more updated toxicology and reviews, foodborne illness oversight, and we haven’t even broached the need to survey and incentivize growers to put back the nutrients in industrially farmed foods. Thanks for weighing in!

Really interesting and informative read. It was nice to see I’m already checking off a lot of the nutrient boxes, but there’s always room for improvement. And I need to try the Greek yogurt with red wine poached strawberries asap!

I suspect you gravitate to a well-rounded diet! Those strawberries are ideal to use up that end of a good red...over yogurt in the AM or, for guests, in a goblet spooned over pound cake cubes and vanilla ice cream
